In the Miso Soup

So today I had time to make a sign to stick at the top of our stall at THE BACKYARD MARKET. Scribbled down a few doodles and made this funky dory fellow.....not quite sure exactly what it is, but seems to sum up the MON brand. He nearly didn't make it though, because of a incident involving a certain person carrying way too many dishes filled with our left over miso soup! luckily a few dabs with a cloth and all is well, but I needed a change of shirt, and Inu needed a plaster on his foot...boohoo.

Don't forget to come along to the BACKYARD MARKET, BRICK LANE THIS SUNDAY for fashion treats galore! xxx J

Welcome!

Hey Guys and Girls, MON is here to colour you in this winter with our great new collection of clothing and accessories to get your woolly mitts on.

Me (Josef) and Inu decided to share our joy of cute fun fashion to the locals and to anyone who happens to be drawn in to our colourful bubble. This blog was set up so we can keep in contact with our customers, updating on where exactly you can all buy our products and also give a insight into our fashion inspirations.

We first tested out our stock at the BACKYARD MARKET, BRICK LANE, last Sunday. Sandwiched between a bobble hat stall and a stall of adorable handmade wares and printed T-shirts from the lovely Naoko 'okoan' we set up our little stall ready for the barrage of tourists and locals. It was a great day, and we both met so many interesting people that would pass though the rails of our nook. The nicest couple we both met was a bubbly Japanese couple, after a while chatting about my cycling trip across Japan and showing my illustration work we exchanged business cards.. turns out it was Takashi Okazaki, the creator of the popular AFRO SAMURAI manga series, what a joy.
So after a day of introductions, plastic bags and take-away bibimbap it was all over. Now we are both encouraged to continue into the bitterness of winter and enjoy the days ahead.

Details of our next appearance will follow shortly, stay tuned. XXJ
